Spring...My Favorite Season

Spring is my absolute favorite season. It means that my birthday is near, days will be longer, the weather is getting warmer, I spend more time outside and I can start planting my garden. Most of all,  I love how colors- greens, yellows, purples and pinks emerge from beneath the brown and grey hues of winter.

Even flowers that some may consider weeds are beautiful and vibrant.

Our property turns into a spring wonderland that our children love exploring. Butterflies, hawk-moths and tadpoles keep them intrigued as they spend hours outside looking for them.

Even cold, cloud covered days offer rich green views.

The children love their independence- free of the cold, damp winter and not having to bundle up every day.

As I look up through the blossoming trees the sky seems much brighter and  a bit more blue.

Purple is my favorite color...

especially when it blankets the fields near our home.

Wishing everyone in the northern hemisphere a beautiful Spring!

  3. One lovely thing about the blogs of people who have been through the big Winter, is watching the wonder of Spring. The seasons are just not so strong in Victoria (Australia) so it is a special thing to see. Thankyou!

My hubby was born in Thessolaniki but moved to the US 30 years ago. I can't wait to retire there. I'll finally get my own blog going by then!

  12. Happy Spring Cheryl! Love the pictures, as always.

Ironically, today is the first day it has really felt like spring up here on the mountain (weather has been nice but still cold until today) and it is the first day I've felt better since the flu started. I'm ready to get outside!! Thanos is off work for a couple weeks starting Monday so it will be nice. We are looking for good balcony furniture so we can start enjoying our view.

  19. I've been trying to arrange our flight just this afternoon, aiming for mid/end of May...think you would ever venture over to Crete?

Spring is finally here too. Honestly, I cannot recall ever having such a long and relentlessly cold winter here in Louisville, but another month's time and we are in full swing for the Derby!

    Have a super weekend Cheryl!
