Timing is everything...
For a few weeks I drove passed this field, admiring the colors each time. Looking forward to passing each morning I kept in mind that I wanted to stop and take a photo one day, so finally, I did. (obviously) I'm glad that I didn't wait another day because the morning after I took the photo I noticed that the field was barren, it had been cleared for planting. Timing is everything.

@ Krisno...Thank you~~~have a great day!
@ Mel...thank you. I know, I'm glad I took it, I love the contrast of colors. I believe it's wild mustard but I could be wrong. I'll check it out because if I can forage some for something, I'm game.
Have a nice day!!
@ Joy...Yes, magic indeed. I love the way the colors look with the early morning light. Have a nice day Joy!

Have a great day my wonderful friend! :)

Glad you clicked before the field was cultivated. This reminds me of some pictures we took with my husband in Cyprus before we relocated to Greece and now that area is so densly constructed and full of hotels. What a pity. Happy Mother's Day to you as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's the kind of field we need to be laying in (on a blanket of course) under the sun and sipping our wine (in the middle of the afternoon). Miss you sweetie. :( xoxoxoxo
ReplyDelete@ Ivy...I'm glad I clicked when I did too. I haven't seen another field quite like it around here. I'm glad it has reminded you of Cyprus. It is a pity to lose such beauty due to urban sprawl.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, wonderful Mother's Day Ivy!
xo!!
@ Christie...Yes...we need a blanket and wine. I need a good conversation too. Dying over here...not sure if I can sound more pathetic, just dying over here!!! :(

ReplyDeleteGingeyginge...Thank you for your warm wishes :)
ReplyDeleteI hope that your week is off to a wonderful start. xo
It is a nice field of poppies and the yellow plant must be something like our mustard. It is nice and I hope the plants get a chance to come back again.
ReplyDeleteAbraham...yes, I think it's wild mustard, it's everywhere. I'll anticipate the return of this field next spring as it's been cultivated and something else has been planted. I'm not sure what has been planted yet though. Have a wonderful day :)
ReplyDeleteDear Cheryl
ReplyDeleteFirst let me thank you for leaving your wonderful comments on one of my posts in Feb'2010. You must think me downright rude not to have replied earlier. my sincere apologies. I was hibernationg for the past 3 months and returned to the blog world just a few days ago.
You pic is awesome - such a riot of colours. Loved it.
Ram
Thank you, for your lovely comment.
ReplyDelete@ Ram...You're welcome. No worries, I never thought you were rude. I love that you used the word "riot" to describe my photo, you're right it is a riot of colors. Have a great weekend Ram!
ReplyDelete@ Gingeyginge...You're always welcome. xo
It is a beautiful photo and I did the same thing a couple of years ago took a photo of a field pretty much like this one and a few days later they had ploughed it!
ReplyDelete@ Samantha...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment and thank you for the visit. :)
The wild flowers grow so quickly here & I'm glad there's at least 1 month in spring before the next crop is planted so that we can enjoy the colors. Have a great Sunday!
