Signs of Spring

Spring has officially begun and even if it arrived with cold temperatures and rain, it's a welcome sight after a long winter.  And, although the calendar tells us it's spring I still love to rely on nature's cues. I love all of the spring flowers and blossoming trees. I try to get outside as much as possible to take in the awakening of my surroundings.

Here are a few photos that I've taken recently that capture some signs of spring...

Tiny daisies blanket the landscape at a park...

These are my zoumboulies. They smell amazing!

Almond blossoms

Almond tree

 Apricot blossoms

And finally, my littlest blossom loves to pick spring flowers for me.

Happy Spring!

  6. Gorgeous photos!
...and just how enthusiastically do I greet the Spring...very enthusiastically. It has felt as though the winter had gone on and on and on this year. Finally, trees here in Louisville have started to flutter their soft green eyelashes and flowers are popping up everywhere.
Are zoumboulies the same flower as a hyacinth? I've got a cluster of them here beside a birdbath in the garden, their perfume is glorious.
    Hooray for the Springtime!

@ Biddy...Thank you! I'm sure that Kentucky is beautiful in spring. The Zoumboulies are much like hyacinth, they smell the same but they don't grow in cone-shaped bunches. They resemble Scylla more in appearance and grow low to the ground. Yes, Hooray for spring! :)
