  1. i could have a glut in zucchini, i could have a glut in peppers, i could have a glut in aubergine, but there is never ever ever enough tomato so as to be given away!

(freeze them, sauce them, use them, whatever - i need them in the winter)

  5. Maria, actually I am inspired. I'll check out kalliopi's site (that's where the assignment came from...right?) well, I'll go back and read-but yes!- It sounds like fun. I loved those types of exercises in my photography courses.

Lulu, that's ok...it gives you more time to decide what you'll do with them when they overpopulate:) I feel like I wasn't well prepared for the amount that we're growing. It's our 1st year so next year will be better. We also planted some extra tomato plants late...so that we'd have tomatoes in Sept. Those plants have barely flowered. I'll send positive tomato vibes your way!

Hope you having a great life in Greece. I would do anything to live there. I just came back from visiting my family in Nafplion last week.

  7. I would have loved to taken some tomatoes. I'd have even given you money, but they wouldn't have made it back to Athens in one piece given the temps and circumstances. :( We use tomatoes for pizza sauce, spag sauce, tomato soup (hot and cold), horiatiki salata (sometimes), chili.

@Irene - In your profile, it says you are indeed in Greece.

  8. Irene, thank you! Life in Greece is interesting, to say the least. I'm glad that you enjoy visiting your family here. Who knows -maybe when you're older you may live here one day yourself. You have a sweet blog.

Kat, I would have loved to have given you some tomatoes! It crossed my mind as well, but then I did consider the fact that it wouldn't have been fun to lug around a bag of tomatoes with you! :)And, I wouldn't have taken money! Silly...
