Plagiarized

Check this out...I've been plagiarized
Angela Suleman? Shock video? This is where the internet is sick. It's one thing to find links to my pages here and there, but to post my daughter's picture and what I've written about our new puppy is beyond disgusting.

  1. I've just left them a comment but I think you should report it Cheryl. I'd be fuming, don't let them get away with it. Off, off, off, that's what I say. If they haven't got anything to say themselves, they shouldn't be on stealing other people's photos and words.
I'll report it if you don't. Makes me so angry, (as you probably can see)

  2. That is horrible!! I would also report it and have it removed. This person has no right to steal your information or to post a photo of your child on their blog. They are obviously using a fake name, as that is the name of the mother of the woman who just had eight babies via IVF. It is all over the news here (USA), and is a negative story, with everyone judging this woman and talking about her 6 kids and her 8 new babies (that perhaps child services should get involved). So I don’t know what they are trying to do by posting a picture of your child and this woman's name. It needs to be removed asap. I agree with Jude, if you don't report it I will. Perhaps if we all do, something will be done soon.

  3. Thanks for your support ladies! Yes, I'm furious. I'm also reporting it. I hadn't right away as I was crunched for time. It's ridiculous...out of control. Let's see how this turns out.
Belpana, I know who Angela Suleman is. She's everywhere and I have satellite. I've seen a lot of her. She definitely doesn't need anything like this right now.

  4. i reall ydont understand why they chose to plagiarsie your content - looks so out of context

  5. Hi Maria,
Yeah, who knows why. It doesn't make any sense at all. Also, with the picture from "A Night at the Roxbury"!? And, it's only been active for 17 days. Way out of control! It's been reported...so let's see how long it takes to have it removed. I'm peeved, to say the least.

  6. That's a bot, Cheryl. I'm fairly certain. It's not a person behind it - it's a bot. Something I haven't seen before but it looks like it.

Yeah: report it to Google and remember to mention the word 'SPAM' about a zillion times. They're totally allergic to it and mention of it freaks them out. That's a signal - a hot word. See the word and they shut the blog down.

    ReplyDelete
  7. If you didn't mention 'spam' before then WRITE AGAIN and tell them the blog looks like some automated spam operation. Get the word 'spam' in there multiple times. Good luck.

  8. Yep it's a porn trap. Go here.

    http://topvideoshock.blogspot.com/2009/01/wing-bowl-2009-contest-in-philadelphia.html

Now click at the top picture. See where you end up. Or click on any of their images for that matter. They seem to be all set up the same way. Probably trying to pick up spare zloty on click-throughs. Describe this adequately to Google, see you send your message to an 'urgent' mailbox, use the words spam and porn a lot, keep sending the message again for every whatever (hour day) until they respond, and it should be shut down straight away once you make contact. They can't afford to let things like this stay online.

Write them again right now. And leave instructions how we can write too. We can all write and this should be out of your hair by midday tomorrow.

  9. It gets better and better. The client identifies himself as one Anton Skripchenko of 'Red Patizan' in St Petersburg Russia.

The crook at the site who took your stuff is an affiliate with these people. And they in turn are affiliates with a whole slew of sleazy sites.

  10. Here's a good link with some advice.

    http://lettershometoyou.wordpress.com/2007/11/20/what-to-do-if-youre-getting-as-sick-as-i-am-of-having-your-blog-copied/

You are not alone but I think blogger will help...ciao

ps. if you sign yourself up for adsense it's harder for anyone to copy you. You don't have to use it. Most people copy blogs to make money off your content.

  11. Don't leave any comments he/she will track you. Anyone who comments risks being plagarized. Hit the "flag" buttton on the top of blog and follow blogger instructions. Do it a few times a day until the blog is gone and read my link above for more good advice...ciao

  12. This comment has been removed by the author.

  13. Rositta's right. Click 'FLAG BLOG', tick 'spam' or something else that's still applicable but they don't have to deliberate over, click through and you're done.

I've submitted several complaints about Cheryl's friend already. I'd encourage all to do the same. Make sure you click through to the spam site first and see their URL in your own location bar as well after you click 'FLAG BLOG'.

  14. And she's also right you should never post comments. Look how they're prepared to accept authentication from Google, LiveJournal, WordPress, TypePad, AIM... Thorough crooks this lot!

  15. Wow, Cheryl. That is truly an outrage. It's so frustrating to have to deal with shameless creeps like that.

  16. R-Thank you so much for your help! I have written to Blogger and even had to leave a copy of my ID to verify my identity. It seems that they take this pretty seriously. I will continue to flag the blog and write blogger until it's off.

Rositta, thank you! I'm doing everything that I can to get rid of this. I will definitely take your advice and consider Adsense.

    Laurie, yes...it is an outrage.

Thanks to all of you for your support and excellent advice. Let's see how long this takes.

  17. It's technically not plagiarism. It's a 'splog.' What's the difference? It's not in line with the content, nor is it a legit blog.

It's not a good idea to link to this person or leave a comment, as others also said. Better to take a screen capture and offer it as a file on your own blog.

  18. The nice thing with adsense it that you don't really have to use it but it stops other from at least using your blog name (sort of)...

    ReplyDelete
  19. That is really awful and what a hassle to have to deal with it now. I think that someone already suggested it, but most definitely cite SPAM,SPAM,SPAM.
I hope your run in with the plagiarizer will not discourage you from posting. Your essays are a delight to read.

  20. Stay cool Cheryl and I'm sure you know what to do.

  21. This is really bad thind to do !!! I have somebody to take one of my pictures of my embroidery work and put it on her photosite, but this is much more worse !!!

  22. Hi Cheryl,
That sucks, I'm sorry! I don't have any advice because I'm not that computer savvy but good luck. Luckily, you got some great comments from all the other readers.
    Take care,
    A

  23. Hello,
After posting about your experience on my blog, I thought you'd like to see the comments of support and disgust bloggers have sent you.
What has Big Blogger said or done?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I thought I responded to my comments yesterday, but in my haste didn't check to make sure that everything went through...sorry for the delay!

R- I want to thank you again for all of your support. I have written blogger several times and flagged the blog as spam at least 100x, if not more. As I mentioned, I had to leave a copy of my ID with my complaint so that they know I'm serious. I have yet to hear from anyone-I have time to dig deeper today. Thank you for all of your suggestions and support! I've requested the removal of the page consistently since I found it.

Kat, thanks for the advice. I wish I was as tech savvy as you:) I'll take your advice although I was already brillant enough to link to the blog as well as leave a comment...and then delete it. I'm the perfect specimen for this type of web activity! :)

Rositta, Thanks for your support and your suggestions! I will apply for adsense this week. I'll let you know how that goes. Thank you!

Biddy, It's nice to see you here again. Initially, when I found the page I wanted to shut down my blog entirely...and then I applied more rational thinking. It would be a shame to let these pigs ruin it for the rest of us. I'll just do things a bit differently.

Phivos, I'm cool:) Although I didn't know exactly what to do at first, I 'm lucky enough to have great readers/friends that do!!

Gunnels, it's unfortunate that others take pictures of your embroidery for their own use. That's irritating to say the least. This is frustrating, but hopefully with diligence, this page will disappear. Thanks for your support!

    Angela,

I'm not very tech savvy either. I'll admit that my husband steps in when I'm stumped. If I had more time I'd probably apply myself more, but with the 3 kids and the zoo...I'm lucky to even blog sometimes.

Jude, as you can see, I've been over to visit. Thanks for your show of support. This is definitely something that we all need to pay attention to. We can't let these sleaze balls take over.
I still haven't heard from blogger but as I mentioned to R, I have time to dig deeper today. Thanks again for your support! :)

  25. no one is safe~ TECHNOLOGY is the second root of all evil :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Don't agree, pp. It's not technology. It's the dumb way people abuse it. The wheel isn't evil, is it? Or is it?

Cheryl: the sleaze balls as you call them have taken over. With 80% of all Windows computers infected with an average of 30 pieces of malware already several years ago the war is already over.

    ReplyDelete
  27. One more thing you might do - it'll irritate them at least. I've never been in this situation and I've never tried this but I'd assume reporting the IP block their links to go to Spamhaus and CBL might stop them for a while. Cheers.

  28. R, thank you! I'll take your advice. I haven't heard anything from blogger yet...I visit them daily! I've flagged the blogged hundreds of times...emailed and nothing. Honestly, it's ridiculous that blogger doesn't have a task force for this sort of thing...or at least one that works.

I'll let you know if anything works. Thank you!!!!
